Lenexa E-Waste Event

Saturday, April 19st , 2008
10:00am – 2:00pm

R3 Technology, located in the Meritex subsurface business park at

17501 W. 98th Street (upper parking lot)

R3 technology phone: (913) 599-3335

What is E-Waste?

Anything and everything electronic! It includes equipment such as computers, mice keyboards, printers, televisions, scanners, stereos, CD/DVD players, video games, PDAs,MP3 players and IPODs, just to name a few. These items often contain plastics, metals and other materials that are not readily biodegradable and can be toxic.

Why should YOU recycle?

- E-waste is the fastest growing source of waste. It is estimated that Kansas will generate 500,000 to 1,000,000 unwanted PCs each year, plus a whole array of other E-wastes.

- Landfilling e-waste is hazardous to the environment and human health because substances such as arsenic, cadmium, lead, mercury and nickel can leach out into the ground and water. These substances have been associated with diseases such as cancer and neurological disorders.

Charges for Recycling E-Waste:

No charge for most items including:

CPUs, keyboards, mice, cell phones, pagers, CD players, handheld games, personal printers.

Charges of $4 - $7.50 apply to monitors, computers with build-in monitors, and TVs
