Rainscapes
Rainscapes is an educational campaign aimed at promoting
water conservation and water quality practices to residents, businesses and industries. Rainscapes is conducted by the City of Lenexa’s watershed management program, Rain to Recreation, which aims to reduce flooding, protect water quality and natural habitat and provide educational and recreational opportunities.

RAIN BARREL PARADE AUCTION
Submit a form today to decorate a barrel in the 2010 parade!

One drop at a time – Rain Barrel Parade
Lenexa’s Rain Barrel Parade is public art exhibition that places rain barrels designed and decorated by local artists throughout they city. While the barrels are the same size and shape, each artist is challenged to create his or her own artistic interpretation.

This original and unusual artwork will be open to the public during June and July at city-owned and Rainscapes partner locations throughout Lenexa. Then, the barrels will be at Waterfest, Lenexa’s annual water festival, July 31 where the barrel that receives the most votes will be given away.

Call for artists
Artists, designers, students and citizens are invited to submit designs for the second annual Rain Barrel Parade!

We need the help of local students, citizens and artists, individually or as a group, to decorate and design barrels.

Download our application, fill out and return it to the City of Lenexa by March 15 for consideration!
